Terms and Conditions for Booking with Health By Hands
Welcome to Health By Hands. By booking an appointment you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies are in place to protect both you and your therapist and to ensure a safe, professional experience for everyone.
1. General Information
1.1. Health By Hands is a professional massage therapy service based in Brighton, providing tailored treatments for clients aged 18 and over.
1.2. All treatments are strictly therapeutic and non-sexual in nature. Any inappropriate behaviour will result in the immediate termination of the session without a refund. Further action may be taken where necessary.
2. Client Eligibility
2.1. Clients must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or relevant health information via the intake form before their first session.
2.2. It is your responsibility to consult your GP or healthcare provider before booking if you have any medical concerns that may affect the safety of receiving massage therapy.
2.3. Health By Hands reserves the right to refuse or postpone treatment if it is deemed unsafe based on the information provided.
3. Booking and Payment
3.1. Bookings can be made via the Health By Hands booking platform, email, or phone.
3.2. Payment is required at the time of booking or immediately following the session, as agreed. Accepted payment methods are cash and bank transfer.
3.3. For mobile appointments, any parking costs incurred by the therapist will be added to the invoice.
3.4. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
4.1. At least 24 hours notice is required for all cancellations or rescheduling requests.
4.2. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will incur a charge of 50% of the session fee.
4.3. Same day cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full session fee.
4.4. Exceptions may be made at the therapist’s discretion in genuine emergency situations.
5. Late Arrivals
5.1. If you arrive late your session will still end at the originally scheduled time. Full payment remains due regardless of reduced treatment time.
6. Allergies and Skin Sensitivity
6.1. Please notify your therapist of any allergies, skin conditions, or sensitivities before your session. This includes reactions to oils, lotions, balms, or any other products that may be used.
6.2. Health By Hands is not liable for any reactions arising from undisclosed allergies or sensitivities.
7. Confidentiality and Privacy
7.1. All personal and health information is kept strictly confidential and will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.
7.2. Client records are stored securely and used solely to provide safe and effective treatment.
7.3. In line with GDPR, you have the right to request access to or deletion of your personal data at any time. Please get in touch directly to make a request.
8. Liability
8.1. Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical treatment or diagnosis. By booking a session you acknowledge this and agree to receive treatment at your own risk.
8.2. Health By Hands accepts no liability for injuries, conditions, or discomfort arising from or exacerbated during a session where full and accurate health information was not disclosed prior to treatment.
9. Therapist Rights
9.1. Health By Hands reserves the right to refuse service to anyone displaying inappropriate, disrespectful, or unsafe behaviour.
9.2. Sessions may be ended immediately if these terms are breached. No refund will be issued in such cases.
10. Treatment Specific Risks
10.1. Some treatments and add-ons carry specific risks. These may be booked in advance or offered and agreed upon during your session. In either case, your therapist will explain what is involved and obtain your verbal consent before proceeding.
10.2. The following risks apply to specific treatments:
Hot Stone and Warm Bamboo — heated tools are used. Please inform your therapist of any heat sensitivities or conditions affecting skin sensation before treatment begins.
Cupping and IASTM — these techniques may cause temporary skin marking, redness, or bruising. Marks typically fade within 3 to 14 days.
CBD Balm — contains cannabidiol. Please notify your therapist of any allergies or sensitivities before use.
Hot Towel — involves direct heat application. Please inform your therapist of any heat sensitivities before treatment begins.
10.3. By proceeding with any of the above treatments, whether pre-booked or agreed on the day, you confirm that you have been informed of the associated risks and consent to treatment.
11. Governing Law
11.1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
By booking an appointment with Health By Hands you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
